These projects are implemented in accordance with the High Instructions of HM King Mohammed VI, aimed at the reconstruction and rehabilitation of areas affected by the Al Haouz earthquake, stressed the DG of ANEF who was accompanied in particular by the Wali of the Souss-Massa region, Governor of the Agadir prefecture Ida Outanane, Saaid Amzazi and the Governor of the Taroudant province, Lahoucine Amzal.

These programs will contribute to promoting economic dynamics in the areas affected by the earthquake and to alleviating the difficulties that arise during the winter season, he added.

He added that the forest rehabilitation and watershed development program in the areas affected by the earthquake, in the provinces of Taroudant, Al Haouz, Chichaoua, Ouarzazate and Azilal, aims at protecting and rehabilitating natural ecosystems, reforestation and forest regeneration and strengthening infrastructure.

Covering the period 2024-2028, this program, to which some 2.7 billion DH has been allocated, is likely to also contribute to human development and the development of economic activities in these mountainous areas.

With funding of 900 million dirhams for the period 2024-2028, the Toubkal National Park development and enhancement program is distinguished by a public-private partnership, the objective of which is to preserve the Heart Zone of the park while encouraging the development of ecotourism in the Accession Area.

This programme focuses on the reintroduction of endangered species, the rehabilitation of forest resources and the development of infrastructure that will help promote sustainable tourism in the region.

As for the emergency program to combat the effects of cold in disaster areas, it aims to mobilize 10,000 tons of firewood in the affected areas, while the emergency program for the distribution of improved ovens aims to distribute 5,800 improved ovens to 5,800 families spread over 191 douars in 38 municipalities in the provinces of Taroudant, Al Haouz and Chichaoua.

The distributed ovens are new generation ovens, certified “ISO 9001 – ISO 50001”, with specific characteristics and quality and safety guarantees in accordance with international standards.

Likewise, these ovens are economical in terms of firewood consumption, have a thermal efficiency of over 70% and are multi-purpose since they can be used for cooking, heating and also for drying laundry.
