Al Haouz Province: INDH continues its sustained efforts to generalize preschool in rural areas

by times news cr

These remarkable efforts are perfectly illustrated by the creation of a series of units dedicated to preschool education, within the framework of program 4 of the Initiative relating to “boosting the human capital of rising generations.”

Like the efforts made at the national level for the generalization of preschool and the continuous improvement of its quality, particularly in rural areas, this type of learning is at the heart of the INDH’s priorities, given its importance and its effective contribution to the development process initiated in the Kingdom.

According to figures from the Social Action Division (DAS) under the prefecture of Al Haouz, the number of preschool units in this part of the national territory increased from 51 in 2019 to 135 units in 2022, while 106 other units are being built for 2023, knowing that a total of 492 preschool units were programmed during the period 2019-2023, including 386 units already operational.

A tour carried out by a team from M24, the MAP continuous news television channel, through a number of preschool units in the territorial municipalities of Aghouatim, Ait Faska and Ourika, allowed to see first-hand the tireless efforts made by the Initiative, in partnership with the Moroccan Foundation for the Promotion of Preschool Education (FMPS) with a view to generalizing this education in rural and remote areas.

Speaking to M24, Said El Kazib, educational supervisor and supervisor at FMPS, noted that the preschool unit in Douar Ben Cheikh, in the commune of Aghouatim, welcomed 21 children this year, due to the success of the previous year’s experience.

“Last year’s experience was successful at all levels,” he said, emphasizing that the young apprentices, having evolved within this unit, integrate with ease from the first year of primary school.

Fouad Talbi, in charge of educational supervision and monitoring at the preschool unit in Douar Amanouz in the commune of Ait Faska, indicated in a similar statement that this unit opened its doors in November 2020 allowing the training of three classes, noting that this unit welcomes 33 children this year.

The craze for registration at the level of this unit is strengthening from year to year, which has pushed its leaders to plan the creation of other units at the level of this douar, he said.

In the commune of Ourika, more precisely in Douar Anrar, the head of a preschool unit, El Houcine Ibiline, indicated that this unit currently accommodates some 17 children, including 9 at level 1 and 8 at level 2, noting that the free access to this unit has strongly encouraged parents to enroll their children.

What will also encourage the strong enthusiasm for this unit is the distribution to the beneficiaries of the school supplies they need, he said, noting that this experience has helped to put an end to school dropouts, particularly in this area.

It should be noted that the promotion of schooling and the fight against school dropout are at the heart of the priorities of the INDH, which ensures, in all efficiency and pragmatism, to provide appropriate solutions, taking into account the needs expressed locally but also the specificities intrinsic to each zone of the national territory.
