Built on land provided by a patron, with an area of 10,000 m2, this space includes 64 containers or modular housing units, 54 of which (area between 18 and 36 m2 depending on the number of family members) are intended for accommodation, in addition to two units dedicated to preschool education and a nursery for children, in addition to other outbuildings.

This platform, deployed by the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity, in partnership with the National Ports Agency (ANP) and in coordination with provincial and local authorities, meets the various needs of the beneficiaries, most of whom come from Douar Degouj, considered one of the douars most affected by the earthquake, given that it is located 2 km from the center of the commune of Tlat N’yacoub and at an altitude of 1,300 m.

This solidarity initiative comes in application of the High Instructions of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, with a view to supporting and accompanying the populations of the areas affected by the earthquake.

In a statement to MAP on this occasion, Mr. Samir Benayada, regional manager at the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity, indicated that this social and humanitarian initiative is part of the Foundation’s program relating to the support of the population affected by the effects of the earthquake that struck the province of Al Haouz and several regions of the Kingdom.

This action, which is the second of its kind, has made it possible to accommodate families in excellent conditions in furnished modular housing equipped with all the necessary equipment and facilities, in addition to a crèche (two containers) and sanitary blocks, he explained.

This operation, which reflects the permanent commitment of the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity to serve citizens, particularly people in precarious situations, aims to improve the living and accommodation conditions of disaster-stricken families and to offer educational and recreational spaces for the benefit of children, he added.

In similar statements, beneficiaries highlighted this initiative which allowed them to overcome a number of constraints imposed by the impacts of the earthquake, expressing, at the same time, their deep gratitude to His Majesty King Mohammed VI for the High Solicitude with which the Sovereign continues to surround the populations impacted by the earthquake in the provinces of Al Haouz and Chichaoua and other regions.

A press release from the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity indicated that in order to offer the best living conditions to beneficiary families and an educational atmosphere adapted to children, the Foundation worked to equip containers or modular housing with interior furniture, kitchen equipment and utensils, and cleaning products.

Likewise, the nursery has been equipped with furniture and games to welcome children in a friendly environment.

The same press release emphasizes that the Foundation remains mobilized and continues its actions of distributing humanitarian aid as close as possible to the needs of the disaster-stricken populations in the provinces of Al Haouz, Chichaoua and Taroudant.
