Al-Kabeer: The Central Bank’s electronic system is “hacked” and the fate of 5 employees is unknown

by times news cr

Al-Siddiq Al-Kabeer sent a letter in his capacity as Governor of the Central Bank of Libya to the Office of the Attorney General complaining about the change of ownership of the domain of the Central Bank of Libya to an email address that does not belong to the bank.

Al-Kabeer said in his urgent message that any change at this level requires permission from the Information Authority, and technically the Libyan Telecommunications and Technology Company.

Al Kabir pointed out that this change will result in the suspension of the communication system with the outside world (email) and will enable the entities to which the domain has been transferred to make radical changes, whether in the bank’s official website or other systems.

Al-Kabeer called on the Attorney General to intervene to stop what he described as tampering by stopping all technical procedures related to this matter until the existing problems are resolved and legal measures are taken against those involved.

Disappearance of 5 Central Bank employees

For his part, Al-Siddiq Al-Kabeer accused the Internal Security Service of what he called “kidnapping” 4 bank employees while they were performing their duties and taking them to an unknown location, pointing out that a fifth employee disappeared while he was heading to the Ministry of Interior headquarters to deliver mail to the governor’s office.

Al-Kabeer considered that such actions constitute a serious threat to the most important financial institution in the country and have negative effects at home and abroad, according to him.

Al-Kabeer called on the Attorney General’s Office to take the necessary legal measures regarding what is happening, holding the Presidential Council and those involved in this act responsible, according to his expression.

Al-Kabir had sent a letter to the Attorney General, requesting that the bank be protected from attempts to “storm” the headquarters by parties assigned by the Presidential Council, especially after the issuance of a decision to appoint Mohamed Al-Shokry as his replacement as governor of the bank and to form a new board of directors.
