The Minister of Social Affairs in the Government of National Unity, Wafaa Al-Kilani, was elected Vice President of the Executive Office of the Council of Arab Ministers of Social Affairs, during the 44th session of the Council of Arab Ministers of Social Affairs held in the Bahraini capital, Manama.
According to what the Ministry reported, this election is an affirmation of the prominent role that Libya plays in promoting joint Arab action in the field of social development, and reflects its effective position in supporting family issues and sustainable development in the region.
In a statement following her election, Al-Kilani stressed that this position requires making more efforts to enhance coordination between Arab countries in the areas of social affairs, and developing joint policies that contribute to improving the level of social services provided to citizens.
It is noteworthy that the Executive Office of the Council of Arab Ministers of Social Affairs is one of the most important bodies that follows up the implementation of the decisions of the Council of Arab Ministers of Social Affairs, as it is engaged in developing the necessary policies and mechanisms to support social and development projects in the Arab countries.
The office also works to enhance Arab cooperation in the areas of supporting productive families, education, health care, and human resources development, which contributes to achieving the common goals of sustainable development in the region.
