Today, Tuesday, the two deputies of the Presidential Council, Mr. Musa Al-Koni and Mr. Abdullah Al-Lafi, received the US Special Envoy to Libya, “Richard Norland”, to discuss the latest developments in the political process in Libya.
During the meeting, the two representatives stressed the importance of combining local and international efforts concerned with the Libyan issue to prepare an effective political project that addresses the political deadlock, pushes towards resolving the political process, and paves the way for achieving the electoral entitlements that the Libyan people aspire to.
For his part, the US envoy praised the efforts of the Presidential Council aimed at bringing together all political parties and bringing the viewpoints of all parties closer together, especially the national reconciliation file, which has reached advanced stages.
The envoy also stressed the United States’ full support for the success of this file, in order to restore stability and lasting peace to the country.
The meeting followed up on the service and security conditions in the southern region, in coordination with the Presidential Council.
