Bangladesh Awami League will hold prayer and prayer program in all mosques of the country except Asr on Friday (August 2) afternoon in memory of all the martyrs of August 15 and recent violence, including Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. The previously announced Friday mourning program has been postponed by a day to Saturday.

In a press release signed by Awami League office secretary Barrister Biplab Barua on Thursday (1 August) evening, it is said that in memory of all the martyrs of August 15, including Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, and those killed in the recent violence, on the initiative of Awami League, Friday (2 August) except Asar, prayers and prayer will be held in all mosques across the country. Prayers will be offered.

The circular also said that the next day, Saturday (August 3) at 3 pm in the capital Dhaka, a ‘mourning procession’ program has been organized on the initiative of Awami League. The mourning procession will start from the premises of the Engineers Institution of Bangladesh adjacent to Suhrawardy Udyan in the capital and will end at Dhanmondi 32 via Shahbagh, Elephant Road and Mirpur Road.

Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader has called upon people from all walks of life including leaders and activists of Awami League and allied and fraternal organizations from different parts of Dhaka to participate in the program.
