These conventions were signed on the sidelines of the opening session of the 7th edition of the International Forum of Oases in the areas of Saharan Morocco, organized over two days by the Sahrawi Youth Center for Social Creation, as part of the commemoration of the 47th anniversary of the Glorious Green March.
The first three conventions, which are part of the National Initiative for Human Development (INDH), aim to improve the services of training centers and spaces dedicated to women.
This is a partnership agreement for the strengthening of the supervision and management of training centers, between the Ministry of Solidarity, Social Integration and Family, the INDH, Entraide national, the Provincial Council and five territorial communes.
This agreement was signed by the Minister of Solidarity, Social Integration and Family, Aawatif Hayar, the governor of the province of Assa-Zag, Youssef Khayer, the director of National Assistance, Khettar El Mojahidi , the president of the Provincial Council, Rachid Tamek, the presidents of the communes of Assa, Aouint Lahna, Aouint Ighoumane, Labouirat and Touizgui.
This agreement aims to support the efforts of partners in the fight against poverty and precariousness in these municipalities through social and psychological support, and the professional qualification of women and girls through the improvement of services. education and training centers.
Signed by Ms. Hayar, Mr. El Mojahidi, the governor of the province of Assa-Zag, the president of the Provincial Council and the president of the Municipal Council of Zag, the second agreement aims to equip and support management multifunctional space for women in Zag.
The third agreement, signed by the governor of the province of Assa-Zag, the director of National Mutual Assistance and the president of the Al Mahbass Municipal Council, aims to rehabilitate, equip and support the management of the training center in Bir 6 in Al Mahbass with a view to improving its services in terms of social and psychological support and professional qualification for women in difficult situations and girls who have dropped out of school.
In a statement to M24, MAP’s continuous news channel, Ms. Hayar expressed her joy at having participated in the celebration of the anniversary of the Glorious Green March in Al Mahbass, at having signed these conventions which aim to promote local development, welcoming the support of the prefecture of the province of Assa-Zag and the stakeholders of the province in these important projects which concern essential areas.
She further underlined that the events organized in celebration of the Green March testify to the strong mobilization behind HM King Mohammed VI to defend the territorial integrity and Moroccan character of the Moroccan Sahara.
The three other agreements relating to the development of oasis areas in the province of Assa-Zag were signed between municipal councils of the province and Moroccan and Portuguese university institutions.
The first agreement signed by the president of the commune of Al Mahbass, Fatiha Hamami, the president of the Sahrawi Youth Center for Social Creation, and the director of the center for archaeological studies, art and heritage sciences at the The University of Coimbra in Portugal, Maria da Conceição Lopes, aims to lay the foundations for lasting cooperation between the signatory parties.
Under this framework agreement, the Coimbra Archaeological Studies Center undertakes, in particular, to provide support for the carrying out of studies and development projects in its preferred fields.
The second convention, which focuses on climate change, natural resources and sustainable development in Saharan areas, was signed by the president of the Provincial Council of Assa-Zag, the president of the Sahrawi Youth Center for Innovation social, the representative of the Laboratory of Climate Change and Territorial Planning at the Faculty of Letters and Human Sciences Ben M’sik in Casablanca, and the presidents of the communes of Al Mahbass, Assa, Aouint Lahna, Zag, Aouint Ighoumane, Labouirat and Touizgui.
This convention aims to exchange experiences and information, and establish partnership and cooperation on issues of the environment, natural resources and sustainable development in the Saharan zones.
