Al-Manfi holds talks with the President of the People’s Republic of China

This evening, Wednesday, the President of the Presidential Council, Mohamed Al-Menfi, held bilateral talks with his counterpart, the President of the People’s Republic of China, Xi Jinping.

The meeting focused on reviewing the course of bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to enhance and develop them, while stressing the importance of building a strategic partnership that serves the interests of both sides.

The two sides also discussed the importance of activating the Libyan-Chinese Joint Committee, and agreeing on the return of Chinese companies to Libya according to a mechanism agreed upon by the committee.

The Chinese President praised the role of the Council President in “strengthening national unity and creating appropriate conditions for holding elections,” noting that “his country looks forward to establishing a comprehensive strategic partnership with Libya that enhances cooperation in all vital areas.”

During the meeting, the Chinese President also stressed, “His country’s readiness to provide all forms of support and cooperation with Libya in various fields during the coming period,” stressing that “China stands firmly with the Libyan people and the Presidential Council in preserving Libya’s sovereignty and unity, and he also called for stopping all negative interference in Libyan affairs.”
