The President of the Presidential Council, Muhammad Al-Manfi, praised the positive role of the United States of America towards the Libyan file and the continuous emphasis on preserving national sovereignty.
During his meeting with the US Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs, Barbara Leaf, Al-Munfi also praised the support for the plan of the UN envoy Abdullah Bathily regarding the elections.
During the meeting, Lev Al-Manfi and his deputy, Abdullah Al-Lafi, briefed on the results of her visits to a number of Libyan officials, in addition to her meeting with Batili.
The US Assistant Secretary of State praised the role and efforts of the Presidential Council in the files of national reconciliation and support for the elections.
The meeting dealt with the latest political developments in Libya, and a number of files of common interest, military, security and economic.
