Doha: FIFA has released the official ball of the Qatar World Cup to be held at the end of the year. The name of the ball is ‘Al Rihla’ which means journey and travel. The ball is made by adidas. With the distinction of being the fastest ball in World Cup history, ‘Al Rihla’ is set to kick off the eight World Cup venues in Qatar.
This is the 14th consecutive time that adidas has become the official manufacturer of the World Cup ball. Qatar’s heritage, culture and the color of the national flag have all influenced ball design. The main feature of the ball is the speed of the field and the accuracy of the shots.
Adidas has been producing the official ball of the World Cup since 1970. The official names of the ball in the last three World Cups were Jabulani in 2010, Brazuca in 2014 and Telstar 18 in 2018.
