Alappuzha: Two more SDPI activists have been arrested in connection with the murder of Alappuzha RSS worker Ranjith Sreenivas. Police have arrested two people who were directly involved in the incident. The arrested are residents of Alappuzha Mannancherry.
Earlier in the day, police had arrested two persons in connection with the case. With this, the number of people arrested in the case has increased to six.

On December 19, BJP leader Ranjit was hacked to death by a 12-member gang on a bike. Police were investigating, including CCTV footage of the group on the bike.
The BJP leader was killed hours after SDPI leader KS Shan was killed. A vehicle used by the accused in the Ranjith murder case was also found. The two-wheeler was found near Valiya Chudukad in Alappuzha. Police said the vehicle was used by three accused who were arrested the previous day in the case.

With this, the police found the third vehicle used by the accused. Ranjith, who went for a morning walk, was beaten to death and later hacked to death. Defendants fled the scene after the murder. Ranjith was rushed to Alappuzha General Hospital but could not save his life.
