Berlin – The game against Gießen on Sunday could not be played again. “Will be postponed” is written on the Alba Berlin homepage after the appointment. To find a result after a game in the German champions’ schedule, you have to go back to January 2 and the duel with the Hamburg Towers, which Alba won 88-80. After the following games against Panathinaikos Athens, Braunschweig, Tel Aviv, Fenerbahce Istanbul and Gießen, a “will be postponed” had to be set. As in the previous season, numerous Covid infections torpedoed the schedule. “In the end we even had twelve cases, twelve people in isolation, a relatively large number of players with very different courses – some didn’t notice anything, others were a bit more symptomatic,” says Marco Baldi, “but the vaccinations made everything much milder than at the first time.”
