Within the framework of the inauguration of the renovated Tortuguitas station, of the Belgrano Norte railway line, President Alberto Fernández referred to the increase in food prices, speculators and the debt inherited from the government of Mauricio Macri.
In reference to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the president maintained that “the greatest economic complication suffered by the world” is the “tremendous fight for food, and prices fly around the world.
“We would like that not to happen to us now, because it costs us a lot to recover. I hope that this week we can begin to put order to the issue of the tremendous debt that we inherited. And on Friday the war against inflation begins in Argentina; we are going to finish with the speculators“, he affirmed when leading the act, in the Buenos Aires party of Malvinas Argentinas.
President Alberto Fernández added that “we know that housing and train problems are not fixed by private parties, but by the State” and stated: “We are not ashamed to say that the State has to be present to bring justice where the market generates injustice.”
Alberto Fernández led the act accompanied by the Minister of Transport, Alexis Guerrera; the governor of the province of Buenos Aires, Axel Kicillof; and the head of the Chamber of Deputies, Sergio Massa.
Trains to “make people’s lives better”
In his turn, Governor Axel Kicillof assured that the ruling party works with the aim of “improving people’s lives” and stressed that “with a Articulated work between the Nation, the province and the municipalities will bring Argentina forward”.
“This is a Peronist day, in which we are improving people’s lives. This station was announced in a government (that of Mauricio Macri) that later did not make them. We did not promise them or seek political revenue, because, as he said Juan Perón, better than saying is doing,” said the governor.
Kicillof stated that “political decision and management were needed for things to end, regardless of who started them” and criticized the management of Cambiemos for discontinuing “the works that Cristina (Fernández de Kirchner) had begun, so as not to give her credit.”
The governor took the opportunity to highlight the importance of trains as a symbol of “productive Argentina”. “Now, at the time of Alberto and Cristina, the train is once again an instrument of development and well-being,” he added.
“We are here with the entire cabinet because we are going to accompany from the province in everything we can to follow the development of railways, trains and stations. Working jointly between the nation, province and municipalities is how we are going to move the province and the country forward. That makes us more efficient and faster, and makes us invincible,” he concluded.
