Albuquerque leaves the scene and opens the door to a new Government. Marcelo under fire | Wood

by time news

After the PAN-Madeira checkmate, Miguel Albuquerque leaves the leadership of the regional Government and opens the door to a successor to allow the PSD/CDS coalition to continue to govern. The chosen name – which could be Jorge Carvalho, current regional secretary of Education – is approved by PSD-Madeira on Monday. This proposal will have to receive the blessing of the representative of the Republic, Irineu Barreto. It is precisely to this figure that Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa refers the solution to the political crisis in Madeira, but remembers that replacing Miguel Albuquerque implies dismissal and drops the regional Budget proposal that will be discussed in February. In the region, the scenario that is on the table, if the replacement proposal is accepted, is the formation of a new government and the presentation of the same Budget.
