Alcjet’s new graphene battery charges in minutes, providing up to 87 watts for two devices

by time news

Elecjet, a small but one-of-a-kind accessory maker that has proven to be a breakthrough in portable batteries, has announced Apollo Ultra – a second-generation portable battery based on Graphene technology. This technology allows the company to offer exceptional specifications, with support for extremely fast charging for a wide range of devices – including computers and portable consoles.

The Apollo Ultra has a relatively standard capacity of 10,000 mAh, but it supports charging up to 100 watts, and can charge up to two devices simultaneously, with a total power of up to 87 watts. This means that this battery can be fully charged in about half an hour, when even a few minutes of charging can suffice in an emergency. The 87-watt power is suitable for charging a console such as the Nintendo Switch, as well as for laptops such as the Apple MacBook Air.

Alcjet points to other advantages of graphene technology: they claim that due to the efficient conductivity of the battery components, a very low operating temperature is maintained compared to other batteries. It also contributes to an extremely long life of up to 2,500 charge cycles, or 7 years of reasonable battery use without significant loss of capacity.

The battery is currently being sold as part of a mass funding campaign, in which the price is $ 65, and another $ 15 for delivery to Israel. According to the company, the final price of the battery, when it hits store shelves, will be $ 100. However, it must be taken into account that in this type of campaign, buyers take the risk that in the end the battery will not meet expectations, or that the project will fail completely – with little chance of a refund. Currently, the delivery date for the first buyers is set for March / April 2022.
