american actor Alec Baldwin has pleaded not guilty this Thursday of the charges of involuntary manslaughter in the case of the shooting that occurred on the set of his latest film, ‘Rust’, in New Mexico and that resulted in the death of the director of photography. According to a court document, the actor has waived his first court appearance and has pleaded not guilty. Baldwin has been released on the promise not to possess a weapon, drink alcohol and not speak to witnesses to the shooting, CNN reported.

The actor shot cinematographer Halyna Hutchins in October during the recording of a scene, with a weapon that should have been a blank but, for unknown reasons, was loaded. Both Baldwin and the gunsmith, Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, were indicted in January with manslaughter.

Although the actor will not appear in court, Gutiérrez-Reed is expected to appear this Friday. The court document also states that the recording of the film will continue under strict measures.

Specifically, Baldwin will be able to have contact with witnesses to the shooting only until he finishes his work, including promoting the film. Should he speak about the incident, he will need to have attorneys present.
