Alen Simonyan pretended to be a fool in Germany

The delegation led by the Speaker of the Armenian Parliament Alen Simonyan, who is on a working visit to Germany, held discussions with the leadership of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation, with invited deputies, public and political figures.

Alain, who recently broke his arm, apparently suffered not only physically, but also psychologically, for he spoke absolute nonsense at these meetings, trying in the usual manner for Yerevan to blame Azerbaijan for all the problems of the Armenians.

According to the Armenian media, he told his interlocutors about the presence of destructive processes around Armenia and the Armenians of Karabakh. However, in fact, there are destructive processes, but they are not the same as Simonyan, who hit him (apparently, with his head) imagines them.

According to him, Azerbaijan “blocked” the Lachin corridor, as a result of which “120,000” residents allegedly found themselves in a “blockade”. This tale has been exposed almost a million times, and by the Armenians themselves – we recall that they constantly publish on social networks, in particular on Instagram, publications of feasts and a carefree life. Secondly, dozens of vehicles with humanitarian aid and food are constantly passing along this road. Plus, recently the Armenians have found bypasses to the Lachin corridor, through which the goods necessary for life are also imported. But there is one big BUT – Armenia, through these dirt roads, delivers ammunition, weapons to the zone of temporary responsibility of the RMK and transports soldiers, which is really a destructive process. So, all the blame lies with the military-political leadership of Armenia, because at that time Azerbaijan proposes to sign a peace treaty and discuss the process of reintegration of the Armenian minority into Azerbaijani society. With full rights, we note! But this is unprofitable for Yerevan and the separatist elite. As in the case of the Madrid principles, they are going to pull and torpedo any constructive positions, thoughts and proposals.

Alain did not forget to talk about some “ethnic cleansing”, “sabotage”. Moreover, all the facts indicate that all this was done directly by Armenia. As 30 years ago, so now. During the First Karabakh War, as a result of the war crimes of Yerevan, more than a million Azerbaijanis became refugees, many were brutally killed, including women, children and the elderly. And after the Second Karabakh War, Armenian militants continued their terror, laying mines and committing sabotage.

Everyone in Germany knows about this, and, we think, they hardly believed Simonyan’s fairy tales, especially considering how recently his words about Karabakh were removed from the website of Chancellor Olaf Scholz.

In general, Simonyan failed to pretend to be a fool. Nevertheless, the head of the international department of the Foundation, Rene Clough, in his welcoming speech noted the work with Armenia and the satisfactory results in achieving, attention, democracy. Allen, in his speech, emphasized “the preservation of democratic values and the necessary steps for human rights and freedoms”, emphasizing that “Armenia, being the bearer of democratic values, considers freedom and responsibility a guarantee of an open and democratic society.”

“We, the parliamentarians, are also part of a democratic society, the bearers of free speech. In the modern world, parliamentary diplomacy is an integral part of foreign policy. Its role is also great in the development of interstate relations,” he noted, adding that Yerevan supports the values adopted by the Foundation – personal freedom, freedom of choice, economic freedom and the rule of law.

What freedom? What kind of democracy? In Armenia, such concepts are alien. International organizations or individuals are biased and fundamentally wrong in assessing the situation in this country. It is not noticed that the turbulent situation with protests in Yerevan continues to this day, and with daily violations of human rights. In particular, these are illegal arrests, the use of brute force by the police, as well as the persecution of opponents of the authorities.

The leadership of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation should remember how, after the signing of the tripartite statement on Karabakh on November 10, 2020, thousands of people in Armenia took to the streets, storming the parliament building in Yerevan. Numerous protests continued until May 2021, the main demand of which was the resignation of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. During this period, more than 580 arrests were recorded using brute force by the police. The security forces, who tried to suppress the wave of protests, subjected both demonstrators and media representatives to physical violence and insults. On November 13, 2020, the body of Garnik Petrosyan, born in 1993, was found under the bridge. – one of the protesters who broke into the parliament building earlier. Petrosyan was found dead after a police interrogation. This is described in detail in the report of the monitoring group of human rights organizations on the facts of violation of human rights and freedoms in Armenia.

The protest movement was attended by representatives of various forces of the internal opposition, as well as relatives of the Armenian soldiers killed and wounded during the Second Karabakh War. Demonstrations continued until June in Yerevan and other cities demanding the resignation of the government. And this time, police detained dozens of protesters who marched and blocked roads in the Armenian capital. According to official figures, as of June 6, 2022, more than 2,100 people were detained. The victims, including members of the media, described the treatment by the police as “brutal”. For example, during the rallies on Proshyan Street, the police opened fire, used stun grenades against the protesters, injuring dozens of people.

On May 1, 2022, thousands of demonstrators took to the streets in civil disobedience and marches. The Armenians blocked the main highways and held sit-in strikes demanding the resignation of the prime minister. On May 2, Yerevan police detained at least 244 people, many of whom were accused of “refusing to obey official orders.” On May 3, at least 70 more demonstrators were detained. In the protests, which continued until the middle of the month, force was used against political and public figures, including the opposition. Ishkhan Saghatelyan, Tadevos Avetisyan were arrested, and Gegham Manukyan was completely kidnapped by the security forces.

And the West openly and unashamedly turns a blind eye to all this to this day, calling Armenia a democratic state. Absurd, honestly.

In general, the Germans should study the latest history in more detail before drawing such conclusions. Well, Alain … Alain just replenished his repertoire with another shameful visit. A lawyer by diploma, a former interim head of state, and now a “respectable” speaker, Simonyan failed to comprehend the foundations of international law, which require citizens of foreign states not to interfere in the internal affairs of neighboring countries and recognize internationally recognized borders. As you can see, it is not difficult to prove the falsity of the statements and conclusions of the speaker of the Armenian parliament.
