Alessandra: Thank you for having me! Yes, I’ve become known for my strict approach on “Friends”. I see it as a testament to my commitment to excellence. I prefer the term “witch” because it reflects a certain strength and independence rather than the softer image of a “good fairy”. It resonates with my personality and my approach to teaching and coaching the dancers.
Editor: That’s fascinating! It certainly shows that you have a strong vision for your work. Over the years, you’ve had quite the journey, both professionally and personally. Recently, during an interview, you delved into your past marriage with Angelo Trementozzi. Can you tell us how your professional life has intersected with your personal life?
Alessandra: Absolutely. My time on “Friends” has taught me a lot about resilience and the importance of passion in both love and work. My marriage to Angelo, while significant, ended mostly because of our differing desires regarding children. I wanted to be a mother, but our paths diverged, which was heartbreaking. Professionally, I’ve channeled that experience into my role, using those emotions to guide my dancers. I know how to push through disappointments and that has affected my coaching style.
Editor: It’s inspiring how you turn personal challenges into motivation for your work. You mentioned that the desire to have children affected your marriage. You even tried insemination multiple times. How has that journey influenced your perspective on personal fulfillment?
Alessandra: That journey was incredibly difficult. It taught me that fulfillment doesn’t solely come from traditional roles or societal expectations. Today, I find my joy in my work and in nurturing young talents. I consider every dancer I mentor like a child, pouring my love and dedication into their growth. It’s about finding alternative ways to create meaning in life.
Editor: It’s incredible how you redefine what fulfillment means for you. As a mentor to so many, how do you balance being strict while also building a supportive environment?
Alessandra: Balancing discipline and support is vital. I believe that tough love is essential. My dancers know I care deeply about them, but I won’t lower my standards. It’s crucial for their development. I communicate clearly about expectations and celebrate their successes, so they feel valued and motivated despite the firmness.
Editor: That’s a wonderful approach! With another season of “Friends” on the horizon, what can fans expect from your role and the dancers this year?
Alessandra: Fans can anticipate even more emotion and growth. I’m pushing the dancers to their limits while fostering their creativity. This season is about personal stories, resilience, and expressing deep emotions through dance. Each performance will tell a unique story, and I can’t wait for the audience to feel that connection.
