Alex Collins, former Seahawks and Ravens running back, passed away Monday at the age of 28 from causes that have not been disclosed.
“It is with a heavy heart that we mourn the passing of Alex Collins. Alex always to be remembered for the light and love that he brought to so many people in his life,” the Ravens announced.
Baltimore reported the death of the player who would turn 29 next August 26thalthough I did not share the causes.
Seattle Seahawks selected Collins in the fifth round of the 2016 NFL Draft. He from there went on to Baltimore where he had his best season in 2017, in which he rushed for 973 yards and six touchdowns, before returning to Seattle.
Ravens coach John Harbaughalso mourned the loss of the player: “It was a pleasure to be around Alex, someone whose light shone brightly. I will always remember him as a great teammate who had an uplifting spirit that impacted everyone he met.”
Seattle’s current quarterback, Geno Smithwho played with Collins on the Seahawks, joined the messages: “Life is so crazy… Fly high boy, until we meet again.”
Former Seattle Sehawaks quarterback Russell Wilson he added to the condolences with a message through his social networks: “This is for one of my favorite companions. You brought joy to each group we share. Keep dancing in heaven. I love you and I will miss you forever. “
Los Arkansas Razorbacks of college football, in which Collins shone, shared the pain of the running back’s departure.
“We are very saddened by the sudden and tragic passing of Alex Collins. He was a legendary Razorback and an even better person. His love for the Razorbacks and the desire to be a Hog was undeniable. We will miss it a lot. Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time,” lamented the institution.
