Time.news – Alex Schwazer through his lawyers has appealed to the Swiss Court to request the suspension of his disqualification for violations of the world anti-doping code. This is what Time.news learns from the walker’s lawyers. The Swiss Court has already set the dates by which counterparties can file their briefs.

The Swiss Federal Court of Lausanne, to which Schwazer appealed for obtain the suspension of the disqualification for recidivism of doping use decided by the Court of Arbitration for Sport of Lausanne in August 2016, sent a registered letter – a copy of which is in the possession of Time.news – to the interested parties in proceeding number 4A_210 / 2021 / ABS, inviting them to express their opinion on the appeal and on the request for conferment of the suspensive effect and precautionary measures.

In its decree, the Swiss Federal Court asks the five interested parties to express their opinion by April 27 on the request to grant suspensive effect and precautionary measures. The Swiss court specified that “silence will be interpreted as acquiescence“.

The answer must in any case be provided by next 7 May. The request was made to the lawyers Ross Wenzel and Nicolas Zbinden of World Athletics (formerly Iaaf), the Italian anti-doping (Nado Italia), the world anti-doping agency (Wada), the Italian athletics federation (Fidal) and the Court Lausanne Sport Arbitration (TAS) which in August 2016 confirmed Schwazer’s eight-year ban.
