Trentino Tragedy: 22-Year-Old Dies in Val di Non Road Collision

A devastating head-on collision on the Val di Non state road in Trentino, Italy, has claimed the life of 22-year-old Alex Ugolini of Lavis. The accident, which occurred Sunday evening, also left an 18-year-old female in serious condition.
Ugolini succumbed to his injuries at Trento hospital after being admitted to intensive care. The incident has deeply shaken the local community, with officials expressing their condolences to the family. “This is terrible news – which affects the entire community,” stated a local official.
Dramatic Rescue Operation Following Fiery Crash
The collision involved two vehicles and resulted in a violent impact, leaving four individuals trapped within the wreckage. Emergency responders faced challenging conditions, with inclement weather necessitating the use of a medical bus in lieu of a helicopter.
A coordinated response was launched, involving three ambulances, the helicopter emergency medical team, firefighters from Denno and Campodenno, and carabinieri officers. Firefighters utilized hydraulic clamps to carefully extract the individuals from the mangled vehicles, handing them over to awaiting medical personnel.
Both Ugolini and the 18-year-old were initially stabilized at the scene before being transported to the hospital. Despite the best efforts of medical staff, Ugolini’s injuries proved fatal. The 18-year-old remains hospitalized in serious condition.

Local authorities have pledged support to the family during this incredibly difficult time. “As an administration we are close to the family in this very difficult moment,” the official added.
