New bad news for TV chef Alfons Schuhbeck who is in prison. All of the 75-year-old’s prison benefits were recently revoked.
Schuhbeck now has to give up many things: free time on weekends, work in the prison kitchen and private doctor’s visits.
He had been in open prison since February and was allowed to leave Rothenfeld prison for two days a month. None of this will come anytime soon.
New investigations incriminate Alfons Schuhbeck
The reason for withdrawing the privileges? The public prosecutor’s office in Munich I is investigating Schuhbeck on suspicion of subsidy fraud in Corona aid, as “t-online” reports.
He has been accused of providing false information during the pandemic to obtain emergency government financial aid. Specifically, it relates to eleven Schuhbeck companies from which he is said to have transferred a six-figure sum in Crown aid.
Schwarzenegger provides comfort
During this difficult time for him, Schuhbeck is now receiving support from a Hollywood star. Arnold Schwarzenegger asked about Schuhbeck’s health in a telephone conversation.

Schwarzenegger’s personal visit to the Oktoberfest opening didn’t happen at first. But the call from the “Terminator” may still have inspired Schuhbeck.
An uncertain future for the head chef
The new allegations could have far-reaching consequences. A possible charge would extend Schuhbeck’s prison sentence.
However, his lawyer is hopeful it won’t come to that. Things look bleak professionally too.
Schuhbeck was actually supposed to work in the bistro on the FC Bayern campus from October. But as “Focus Online” reports, the club withdrew the offer after the new investigation became known.

Alfons Schuhbeck is one of Germany’s most successful chefs and restaurateurs. He earned a Michelin star and built an impressive gastronomic empire.
He became well known for his numerous television appearances in cooking shows such as “Küchenschlacht”. The turning point in Schuhbeck’s career began with financial difficulties.

On October 27, 2022, the Munich Regional Court sentenced Schuhbeck to three years and two months in prison for tax evasion. He was accused of evading 2.3 million euros in taxes.
