The president of the Community and candidate for re-election, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, has announced this Sunday that the general secretary of the PP of Madrid and director of his campaign, Alfonso Serrano, will occupy the ‘number two’ position on the electoral list for the Assembly from Madrid.
“The person who is going to accompany us, who is going to lead, therefore, really with me this new exciting project for the Community of Madrid, is Alfonso Serrano”, he stated during the presentation of municipal candidates of the PP of Madrid from the western zone , which has been held in Boadilla del Monte.
Ayuso has highlighted that Serrano is a “very good person”, something that he considers “very important because when a politician is a good person it means that when you are not on top of him you know that he is doing good”. “I don’t know where he is all the time, I know that he is doing well and well,” he pointed out.
Likewise, he has emphasized that he is “a great father of a large family”, “honest”, “dialogue” and that he has “infinite patience”. For the president, the most important thing is that he “is not a general secretary who needs to win leadership through fear and imposition” but rather that he is winning “the affection of all the affiliates by making teams.”
Serrano, one of the people most trusted by the president, has been responsible on the last two occasions for the campaigns with which Ayuso has presented himself and has worked in the national campaigns since 2004. He has also held different positions within the party, such as that of Deputy Secretary of Organization and Territorial between 2018 and 2019.
Deputy of the Madrid Assembly since 2011, he has been working in different positions within the Parliamentary Group and has been spokesman between 2019 and 2022, a position he left to focus on the responsibilities of the general secretariat of the PP in Madrid in June of last year.
