Algeciras Port Authority Board of Directors (APBA) that he approved in the ordinary session of the institution’s Business Plan 2025, a document that envisages an investment of 505 million euros for the period 2024-2028, which represents a jump in the amount of investment compared to recent years. As the president of the APBA, Gerardo Landaluce, said, “this investment effort will consolidate and increase the competitiveness that the Port of Algeciras needs in the next ten years to continue attracting new clients.”

In this way, the item stands for the reinforcement of port infrastructure in the docks managed by the APBA, for which 92 million euros will be allocated, a section that includes the works carried out by the port institution to connect the Galera and Isla Verde docks. stands out.

Another element that the Business Plan 2024-2028 reinforces is the land side, that is, the rail and road accessibility of the Port of Algeciras, activities supported by European funds from the Next Generation Recovery and Resilience Mechanism and the Land Accessibility Fund of State Ports. Regarding this point, the APBA estimates for the aforementioned period more than 90 million euros of investment within the port area and the Last Mile, to which we must add another 18 million euros that are already being executed outside the service area (Campillos and Setenil siding on the Algeciras-Bobadilla section, among others).

The Sustainability and Energy projects have another 55 million euros, representing in this section the projects to implement OPS (Offshore Power Supply) in the docks of Algeciras and Tarifa, which are also supported by funds from the Recovery and Resilience Mechanism Next Generation; and digitization and innovation initiatives exceed 14 million euros.

And with regard to the part of the port city, the Business Plan proposes to carry out projects worth 67 million euros in the Bay and Tarifa area, emphasizing among them the progress and completion of the Lough Murí project Algeciras.
