Algeria.. Abdelmadjid Tebboune as President for a second term

The head of the Independent National Election Authority in Algeria, Mohamed Charfi, announced the results of the early presidential elections in a press conference.

The preliminary results achieved by the three candidates were as follows:

Independent candidate Abdelmadjid Tebboune: 5,329,253, or 94.65%.

“Movement for a Peaceful Society” candidate, Hassani Sharif Abdelali: 178,797, or 3.17%.

Socialist Forces Front candidate Youssef Ouchich: 122,146, representing 2.16%.

Mohamed Charfi revealed that “the independent candidate Abdelmadjid Tebboune obtained 5 million, 329 thousand, and 253 votes, representing 94.65 percent.”

The head of the Independent Election Authority confirmed that “his body worked with great care to achieve transparent elections and ensured fair competition between all candidates.”

Mohamed Charfi pointed out that “the wide participation in the electoral process indicates the achievement of the desired integrity.”

The head of the National Independent Election Authority, Mohamed Charfi, stated that “the electoral body counted 24,351,551 registered voters, including 23,486,061 voters inside Algeria, distributed as follows: 47% women and 53% men, while the percentage of registered voters under 40 years of age reached 36%. The participation rate in the presidential elections until 8 pm reached 48.03% inside the country, while it reached 19.57% for the community abroad.”

On Saturday, September 7, Algerians voted in the presidential elections, in which three candidates competed: the candidate of the “Socialist Forces Front Party”, Youssef Ouchich, the independent candidate Abdelmadjid Tebboune, in addition to the candidate of the “Movement of Society for Peace”, Abdelali Hassani Cherif.
