Algerian authorities have said that they have “neutralized” 30 terrorists and 223 support elements in various military operations throughout the country, during the first half of 2024.
The Ministry of Defense has also announced that, during the same period, the Algerian Army has destroyed ten bunkers and shelters used by terrorist groups and has recovered 26 weapons and 23 bombs of different types and fight.
In a report made by the state news agency APS, the Ministry has presented an evaluation of the activities of the Algerian Army during the first half of 2024 “in the process of combating terrorism and organized crime.”
In it, the Defense is proud of the results “that show the high level of professionalism, vigilance and permanent presence of (the) Armed Forces throughout the country” and has shown its work to “hold all efforts to safeguard the security and stability of the country(s) and its government.”
Thus, different forces have arrested 1,432 drug traffickers, have prevented the introduction of 176 quintals (17,600 kilos) of processed kif from the border with Morocco, and have seized 129 kilos of cocaine and 11,726,988 million psychotropic drugs.
In addition, they have arrested 6,026 people and they have taken 860 cars, 360 small guns (…) and other materials and “food products intended for smuggling and speculation.” On the other hand, authorities “detained 12,573 illegal immigrants” across the country.
