During this meeting, the two Heads of State “discussed bilateral relations and the means of strengthening them, including the State visit of the President of the Republic to France, which they agreed to organize the second half of June,” the presidency said in a statement.
What to tighten again the links between Paris and Algiers while Abdelmadjid Tebboune had postponed his visit initially planned for the beginning of May.
The two heads of state turned the page at the end of March on the last diplomatic crisis between the two countries and announced their desire to continue to “strengthen bilateral cooperation”, according to the Elysee.
They raised during a telephone interview the “misunderstandings” linked to the falling out around a Franco-Algerian activist and “agreed to strengthen the communication channels (..) to prevent this type of regrettable misunderstanding from happening again”. , added the French presidency in a press release.
