Before giving his opinion on his 14 years in office:
“Overall, everything was not imperfect during this period, the country remained at peace.
Unfortunately, it was also the scene of poor governance at the top of the state.
This has greatly weakened the economic fabric, accentuated the gap between the different social classes and undermined our living together.
(…) What I remember about Mr. Ali Bongo is his strong propensity to delegate and to create around him a circle of individuals who thought they were right about everything but did nothing positive.”
