Comedian and actress Ali Wong has officially filed for divorce from her husband, Justin Hakuta. The couple first confirmed their split nearly two years ago, and Wong has now taken the next step by filing for divorce in Beverly Hills.

According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Wong cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their separation. The 41-year-old comedian has also requested their prenup to be enforced and is currently in mediation with Hakuta to work out their assets and any spousal and child support.

Wong and Hakuta, who tied the knot in 2014, share two young daughters – 8-year-old Mari and 6-year-old Nikki. Wong has requested joint legal and physical custody of their children.

The date of separation is listed as April 10, 2022, just two days before their split was confirmed by Wong’s representative. Despite the divorce, Wong and Hakuta have maintained a close relationship, with Wong describing their divorce as “very unconventional” during an interview earlier this year.

In addition to her work in comedy, Wong is known for her candidness about her personal life. In her memoir, “Dear Girls: Intimate Tales, Untold Secrets & Advice for Living Your Best Life,” she opened up about the impact of signing a prenup on her career, describing it as a motivating factor.

Following her split from Hakuta, Wong briefly dated fellow comedian Bill Hader in 2022, with the couple reuniting after a short separation in 2023. However, Wong’s divorce filing signifies the official end of her marriage to Hakuta.

As of now, Wong’s representatives have not responded to requests for comment on the divorce.

Wong’s filing for divorce marks the next chapter in her personal life, and fans and supporters are eager to see how the comedian navigates this new phase.
