Aliki Vougiouklakis and Vlassis Bonatsos lived a long and passionate love affair, which has gone down in history. They had met during the stage play Evita and their relationship, which had monopolized the press in the 80s, lasted five and a half years.

Journalist and collector Aris Loupasis published a photo of the then couple from 1987. He writes in detail about their relationship:

“Aliki Vougiouklakis congratulates her then-partner Vlassis Bonatsos at the premiere of the review “Gelas Hellas Agelas”, which aired on June 20, 1987 at the Park summer theater on Alexandras Avenue with texts by Stamatis Fasoulis, Dimitras Papadopoulos, Linas Nikolakopoulos and the participation of the first two as well as Yiannis Fertis, Minas Adamakis, Yiannis Bezou, Quick Valtinou, Mirkas Papakonstantinou, Eleni Kourkoulas and Mimi Chrysomalli.

A few months later the couple went their separate ways in life, remaining two good and dear friends till the end. They met in 1981 when they were brought into contact by their mutual friend and Alice’s musical partner, Mike Rozakis, for the role of “Che Guevara” in the rock opera “Evita” that he staged at her theater in the winter season of 1981-82.

Finally, Vlassis Bonatsos managed to get the specific role which he literally took off, with the audience creating endless queues that reach the Stadium to watch one of the most beautiful performances of the season, the best “Evita” in the world according to the English producers as well as the one who receives the most applause from all the contributors.

Their initially casual relationship soon developed into a mutual liking and four months later in a strong love where the beloved actress changed next to him habits of years, having fun in youth clubs of the time dressed casually in jeans and t-shirt and through his spontaneity, eternal childishness and uncomplicated character, she lived the excitement of her youthful years. Their humor and self-deprecation were among the elements that united them incredibly and they lived together five and a half wonderful yearsforming forever in each other’s hearts an important and particularly special chapter”.
