Alison Amritraj knocked out in first round Chennai Open

The International Women’s Tennis Series is being held at Nungambakkam, Chennai. The 29th-ranked American Allison faced the 147th-ranked Russian Kashanova. Kashanova, who played well from the start, defeated Alison Risk in straight sets 6-2, 6-3 and advanced to the 2nd round.

Top-ranked American Allison Shatham suffered a shock first-round exit.Kashanova played without a Russian flag, with Russian athletes banned because of the war in Ukraine.

Notably, Allison Risk is the daughter-in-law of the failed tennis player Vijay Amritraj family.
