The General Prosecutor of the Republic (FGR) and the Financial Intelligence Unit (UIF) are investigating an influx of front companies, related to Alejandro Moreno Cardenas And his brother, Emigdio Moreno, whose triangulations were related to the purchase of six properties in Mexico City, and another in Houston, reported Mexicans Against Corruption and Impunity (MCCI).

The civil organization obtained data from the Public Registry of Property and Commerce of Mexico City, which indicates that the brother of the well-known Alito Moreno, established the companies EMC Metering Systems SA de CV y Flow Control Instrumentation SA de CV. And in the United States he formed EMC Metering Systems Inc and First International Flow Control Inc.

These companies were used to carry out financial triangulations, which were investigated by the Financial Intelligence Unit, which followed the money trail and, after a network of transfers, ended up in the accounts of Alejandro Moreno, who is currently seeking re-election as the PRI leader.

One of the examples is that Power Petroleum de México SA de CV, a company to which EMC Metering Systems deposited 4 million pesos in 2019, whose resources were dispersed to several companies, but in a few months the entire amount was returned to the accounts of the PRI leader, at the time when he requested leave as governor of Campeche to lead the tricolor party.

The UIF classified Emigdio Moreno’s financial operations as irregular, so it followed up on them and discovered that “from June 14, 2016 to June 13, 2017, 67 deposits were made for 11 million 362 thousand pesos to a checking account that he had registered at Banco Banamex.”

Of that amount, according to the investigation, 4 million pesos went to a bank account of Alito Moreno, which would have occurred while he was serving as governor of Campeche.

Investigations

The companies of the PRI leader’s brother were also investigated, for example Flow Control Instrumentation SA de CV, according to the MCCI report, in “the fiscal years from 2015 to 2021, the company reported revenues of 85 million 468 thousand pesos. However, it had expenses of 88 million 950 thousand pesos. That is, in all those years the company recorded losses.”

Mexicans Against Corruption and Impunity also documented that in eight years, Emigdio Moreno became the owner of six properties in Mexico City worth more than 40.7 million pesos.

In 2017, he bought an apartment in Polanco for 5.8 million pesos; in 2013, he paid 15.3 million for a house in the same neighborhood, both through bank loans.

In 2019, when his brother was still governor of Campeche, he bought another apartment in New Polanco Square Parks for 4.6 million pesos.

The other transactions were made in 2010, when he bought an apartment in Puerta Alameda for 1.9 million pesos, and another property for 3 million pesos in Cointzio, Irrigación neighborhood, Miguel Hidalgo municipality.
