Following the vote to renew the leadership of the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI), the National Political Council declared the formula formed by Alejandro “Alito” Moreno in the leadership of the tricolor party, already Carolina Viggiano as general secretary of the party, so this partnership will be valid until 2028.
In his speech, Alejandro Moreno said that the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) had a transparent electoral process that was in line with the party’s schedule, while the PRI leader said that the process was characterized by being open, transparent and competitive.
“In the past processes (of leadership renewal) we obtained 2 million votes (from the militants), today we obtained the support of more than 90% of the party,” he stressed.

In addition, Moreno recognized the participation of Lorena Pinonwho sought to succeed him in the leadership of the party, and that of Cuauhtémoc Betanzosthe candidate for the General Secretariat of the Institutional Revolutionary Party.
“Two young people who today had the opportunity to participate in the internal process of our political institute. They are the new generation of profiles that are called to occupy a place in the renewal process of our political institute,” he mentioned, and at the same time assured that the proposals of his opponents will take place in the new PRI.
On the other hand, the leader of this political force acknowledged that the party is not living its best moment, since it lost ground and militancy, after the presidential election of June 2ndfor this reason he assured that the challenge of the PRI will be to “renew ourselves, reform ourselves and regain citizen confidence,” he stressed.
For this reason, “Alito” Moreno pointed out that the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) is going for a comprehensive reform, for which six commissions will be created for reflection, which will be working permanently to improve the political institution.
The commissions that will be created are: Commission for Qualitative and Quantitative Analysis that will examine data, research, and sociological studies on the role of the PRI in the Mexican and international system, then there will be the Electoral Diagnostic Commissionwho will be responsible for evaluating the party’s performance in the elections by analyzing results, trends and dynamics.
Also, in the new leadership of Alejandro Morena the following will be created: Communications Commissionwhich will be responsible for planning, coordinating and evaluating the party’s communication strategies, as well as improving the public image of this political force.

Another of the commissions to be created is the Dialogue with Militancy commission, which will have the mission of going out into the streets to listen to the militancy and recover the feeling of the PRI base, so that the PRI will cease to be a party of elites, he said.
In the meantime, the Commission for Reflection with experts, who from a multidisciplinary approach will contribute to the process of institutional renewal, and the other commission to be created will be that of Consultation with Civil Societywhere there will be direct collaboration with civil society organizations.
