Vetrimaran is a prominent director in Tamil cinema. He is a disciple of cinematographer and director Balumakendra. Having studied under Balumakendra, he takes care of every scene so that every work of his should be excellent. That is why he is considered as the best director by fans and the film industry even though he has directed very few films.
He started with the movie Polladavan and went on to act in Aadukalam, Uruja, Vada Chennai and Asuran. He directed 4 movies only with Dhanush. Dhanush bagged the best actor award for both Aadukalam and Asuran. Currently, he is directing the film Vimithyam starring Vethimaran Suri and Vijay Sethupathi in the lead roles.
The film is released in two parts. Suri has played an unprecedented role in the film. The trailer of the film was recently released and it was well received by the fans. Videos related to the audio festival of the film are also going viral on the internet.
Comedy scenes are never present in Vetrimaran’s films, which are taken seriously. He himself admits that he does not like comedy. In an interview, Vetimaaran said, ‘I don’t agree with the comedy scenes in Polladavan. There will be many interesting scenes in it. I think they are not good shows even if the fans like them. I agree that comedy comes along with the story.
But I don’t agree with solo comedy. Polladavan was my first film so I had to listen to the producer. Santhanam and Karunas will make a comedy. Everyone laughs at the shoot. But, I’ll be watching seriously. Seeing that, Santhanam said, ‘Everyone laughed. So the director will not put it. We will hide this comedy in another film’ he would say to Karunas. That’s the kind of film made like that, ‘Polladavan’ said in the interview.
