Preparations are being made by the Central Government to launch a new unified portal. All government facilities like digital public goods like Aadhaar, Unified Payment Interface UPI and government e-commerce portal Open Network for Digital Commerce ONDC will be available on this portal. Meaning all digital facilities will be available at one place. This will make it very easy for common users. Users will not have to go to different apps and portals for digital services.
The government has started preparations
According to the report, Electronics and Information Technology i.e. Meity has started the work to create this portal. In this effort, instructions have been given to prepare the framework of Digital Public Infrastructure i.e. DPI in collaboration with all the ministries and their related departments and agencies.
Common people will benefit greatly
At present, there are different apps and portals for the schemes of the Central and State Government. In such a situation, common users had to visit different apps and portals to avail the benefits of government schemes. Also, the situation is worse in the villages, where for digital facilities one has to go to the computer center, where huge charges are taken. In such a situation, having all government digital services available at one place will be of great benefit, so that anyone can easily enjoy online government facilities.
DPG market size will be 100 billion dollars in next 5 years
As it is known that the demand for online services is increasing rapidly in India. Besides, the Government of India also wants to provide its facilities to every citizen in a transparent manner through online services. The government is continuously trying for this. According to a report, in the next 5 to 6 years the global market size of DPG will be around 100 billion dollars.
