All parking lots in Moscow on New Year’s holidays will be made free

by time news

All street parking in Moscow, including in the city center, will be free from December 31 to January 8, the Moscow Department of Transport reported on its Telegram channel.

After the end of the holidays, January 9, parking will be free everywhere, except for streets with an increased tariff of 380 rubles per hour during the day and 200 rubles per hour at night.

“We ask drivers to be attentive while driving and to park without violations, so as not to provoke emergency situations and to enable public transport and other motorists to pass through,” the message says.

Flat parking lots with a barrier will operate at the current tariffs.

Parking prices in Moscow increased in April 2021, previously an hour of parking cost 200 rubles. In February last year, the Moscow Department of Transport decided that there would be 1,350 toll streets in Moscow. This is more than a third of all roads within the old borders of Moscow (there are about 3600 of them).
