Deputies of the State Council of Tatarstan approved the introduction of an experimental legal regime in the field of digital innovations for the operation of drones in Innopolis. It is about lifting all restrictions on this territory.
“Tatarstan is the first region in Russia to make such a decision. Let’s hope that the formation of an experimental site on the basis of Innopolis will expand the boundaries of autonomous transport performance and create preconditions for the large-scale implementation of digital technologies in the transport sector, ”said Alexander Tygin, chairman of the parliamentary Committee on Housing Policy and Infrastructure Development, to Tatar-inform news agency.
The deputy clarified that if this decision is made by the Government of Russia, Innopolis may become the first territory in Russia and Europe without legal restrictions in the field of digital innovations.
Let us remind you that another technopark, Magistralny, is planned to be built in Kazan. The project should be ready by May 29, 2023. The statement on the need for a technopark was received from Jensen Group LLC. Presumably, it will be located near the Samosyrovsky forest. Some buildings can already be seen on the maps. In early June 2021, Innopolis Special Economic Zone JSC signed an agreement for the design and survey work for the construction of a technopark.
Innopolis is located in the Verkhneuslonsky district of Tatarstan. This is a satellite city of Kazan, part of its agglomeration. It houses the University of Innopolis and the special economic zone “Innopolis”. For 2019, it was the smallest city in the Russian Federation in terms of population. This is one of the few cities built from scratch in post-Soviet Russia.
