All schools in Saratov have been retiring for a week from September 27 due to the increase in the incidence of coronavirus in the city. This is reported by the official Telegram channel of the Saratov mayor’s office.
“In connection with the exceeding of the epidemic thresholds for the incidence of ARVI among children and the high incidence of coronavirus infection in the population, Saratov schools and institutions of additional education will switch to distance learning from September 27 to October 11,” the message says.
According to the regional Ministry of Health, two schools in the Kalininsky district of the region have been completely closed due to the detection of cases of coronavirus. In total, 145 classes in 69 schools were transferred to remote education, including 39 in Saratov.
Today, in the Saratov region, the headquarters registered a record daily increase in cases since the beginning of the pandemic – 289 people became infected. In total, since March 2020, 86,967 cases of coronavirus infection have been confirmed in the region, 2,820 patients have died, 79,441 have recovered.
In addition, today a record mortality rate from coronavirus was recorded in Russia as a whole – 828 patients died. The indicator renews its high for the fourth day in a row. The total number of deaths due to COVID-19 during the pandemic in the country reached 202,273. In total, 21,379 cases of coronavirus were registered in Russia per day.
