Prime Minister of the National Unity Government, Abdul Hamid Al-Dabaiba, made a field visit to Tarhuna, following the air depression that the city witnessed and the resulting heavy rains, which resulted in damage to property and homes.
Al-Dabaiba met with the Municipal Council of Tarhuna, to follow up coordination efforts between the ministries and the municipality in providing the necessary support, with a focus on families affected by water entering their homes and property.
Al-Dabaiba also inspected Tarhuna Teaching Hospital to inspect the damage it sustained as an inevitable result of the water leak, and issued directives to the Administrative Centers Advancement and Development Authority to provide a temporary headquarters for the hospital untill maintenance work in the current building is completed.
Within the framework of the Life Return Project, the Prime Minister announced the establishment of the “Development and Development Authority for Tarhuna and neighboring areas,” allocating a budget of 100 million dinars to it to begin implementing urgent development projects and improving the city’s infrastructure.
The Prime Minister also visited the popular area in the center of the city of Tarhuna, which is considered one of the areas most affected by the torrential rains that swept the city, where he inspected the damage to citizens’ property and listened to the people’s complaints and needs.
During the visit, the Prime Minister offered his condolences to the Al-Sabit family from the Mazawgha tribe, who lost three of their sons after their vehicle sank in a valley yesterday.
The Prime Minister expressed his sincere condolences and sympathy to the family, stressing that the government will take all necessary measures to provide support to the affected families and prevent the recurrence of such tragic incidents.
The Prime Minister stressed the government’s commitment to following up on the situation on the ground and providing urgent aid, ensuring the protection of citizens and alleviating their suffering in these tough circumstances.
After the visit, Al-Dabaiba wrote on his official Facebook page, saying: “At the conclusion of my visit to Tarhuna, I inspected the damage caused by the floods, examined the conditions of the citizens, and offered my condolences to the al-Thabet family, which lost three of its sons in this painful accident.
Al-Dabaiba added: “We directed immediate support to the affected families,and we launched the Tarhuna Development and Development Authority with a budget of 100 million dinars to develop the city and neighboring areas.”
The head of the National Unity Government continued: “before sunset in Tarhuna, I had to stop at one of the mass graves, where the pain was still present and the wound had not healed. We will not forget those heinous crimes committed against our people, and we will not forget the columns of death that brought devastation and destruction to this good land.We renew our pledge to justice, and to punish everyone who supported and supports these crimes.”

Al-Dabaiba: Libya has great potential for renewable energy, particularly solar power. At the end of the day,we want to be more than just an oil-exporting nation.
