Leading Telugu film star Allu Arjun’s performance has been praised by a prominent political leader.

Allu Arjun is a leading actor in Telugu cinema. His recent film Pushpa was acclaimed and did well. Leading tobacco company has invited Allu Arjun to star in their promotional film. They have decided to pay Allu Arjun a multi-crore salary for the promotional film. But he reportedly did not want to star in a tobacco commercial and turned down the invitation.
Pamaka youth leader Anbumani Ramadoss has posted on her social media site praising Allu Arjun’s action. In it, he mentions that actor Allu Arjun’s refusal to act in socially harmful advertisements, despite the desire to pay a large sum of money to act in an advertisement for a tobacco company, is to be welcomed. He is thought to have survived an earlier attempt to oust him following Mr Jiang’s intervention in a tobacco company advertisement. His social concern is commendable.
I wrote a letter to the leading actors when I was the Union Health Minister to avoid acting in such scenes just because the actors would be addicted to tobacco if the actors acted in smoking scenes. Actor Allu Arjun, who refused to star in a tobacco company advertisement, should avoid starring in smoking scenes in movies. Anbumani Ramadoss has posted that all actors should avoid smoking scenes in the interest of the people including their fans.
