by time news

The defense concern Almaz-Antey has confirmed the development of its own hybrid electric vehicle, RBC said with reference to a representative of the enterprise. The company has not yet disclosed the release date and cost.

The first electric car produced by Almaz-Antey will be a 4.5 m long crossover.

An electric car called E-NEVA will be able to travel 463 km on a single charge, with a maximum speed of 197 km / h. The electric car will be able to accelerate to 60 km / h in 2.7 seconds. In addition, E-NEVA will install a multimedia system with a digital panel, a head-up display and a 15-inch touch screen. The electric car will be produced in different trim levels, including with a “hybrid” engine running on gas or hydrogen.

The fact that the defense concern is developing its own electric vehicle, RBC reported in September, citing sources. The press service of Almaz-Antey confirmed the work on the hybrid car, but did not specify the technical details and the volume of investments in the project, noting only that this is a purely civilian development, since the military does not use gas engine fuel.

In August, Almaz-Antey presented a prototype of an unmanned electric platform at the Army 2021 forum. At the same time, the concern announced that it was working on a prototype of a full-fledged electric car.

In connection with the planned decrease in the volume of state defense orders from 2017, Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered in December 2016 to increase the share of civilian products at defense enterprises to 30% of total production by 2025, and to 50% by 2030. As of 2020, an average of 25% diversification has been achieved.
