Will a solution be found? Karin Sandel (Shahar Gross)
For about nine hours, the Football Association has been holding a marathon meeting between Karin Sandel, who represents the players of the Israeli national team, and Meitar Shemesh, who is the head of the new women’s division of the Football Association, and Guy Portniagin, head of the national team. All this in order to try to reach an agreement regarding the requirements of the players of the Israeli national football team. As you may recall, they announced the suspension of activities until further notice, until their demands were fully met.
The players submitted a detailed document to the Football Association, and she in turn returned a document in which there was a reprimand for the players’ media conduct. In fact, the association did not like Sandel’s interview on ONE, in which she said, among other things: “The association – the chauvinistic sports body in the country.”
The parties exchange drafts and enter as stated the tenth hour of negotiations. During the negotiations, the association’s members pick up the phone to the association’s CEO Yossi Sharabi, when it is not clear why he did not stay in Israel following the story and instead he conducts telephone conversations and conducts the negotiations with the association’s staff, while flying with the Israeli team. There is no doubt that with his extensive experience in government ministries, if he had been in the country, it would have resolved the negotiations.
While the crisis was at its height, nothing would have happened if Sharabi had given up traveling with the team, as this would not have hurt a professional team. The women’s team still has a game against Bulgaria on June 23 and the players have not yet started training and are on a break for about two weeks in fact.
