42 provinces throughout Spain will be at risk due to high temperatures
A total of 42 provinces throughout Spain will be at risk this Tuesday due to high temperatures and can be reached up to 42C in a day of maximum high temperatures in most of the country, as well as intervals of strong wind in the northwest of Galicia and points of Canary Islands. Specifically, heat trigger warnings on Cdiz, Granada, Huelva, Huesca, Teruel, Majorca, Minorca, Ibiza y Formentera, Cantabria, Burgos, Len, Palencia, Segovia, Soria, Guadalajara, Cuenca, Ciudad Real, Albacete, Gerona, Lrida, Tarragona, Lugo, Pontevedra, Lava, Valencia, Fuerteventura, La Palma, La Gomera, El Hierro y Tenerife.
Upgrade to major risk (orange) in Córdoba, Jan, Seville, Zaragoza, Valladolid, Zamora, Salamanca, Vila, Toledo, Extremadura, Ourense, Madrid, Navarra, La Rioja y Gran Canaria.
In this way, the maximum temperatures will decrease in the west of Galicia and increase in the Cantabrian area, the north of the North Plateau, the western Pyrenees and the High and middle Ebro. They are expected to exceed 40C in the valleys of the Guadalquivir,Guadiana y Block. In the case of the minimum, they will rise in the northern and medium plateau of the Canary Islands, with little change in general in the rest.
In the case of the Canary Islands, there will be warnings in force for maximum temperatures of 38C in summits and medians facing the south, west and east of Gran Canaria and for maximums of 34C in medians in the south and west of the western islands and interior of Fuerteventura .
For this Tuesday, cloudy intervals are expected in Asturias and the north of Galicia, without ruling out some light rain in the north of Lugo. Lightly cloudy or clear skies will predominate in the rest, with some low clouds in the north of the Canary Islands and the surroundings of Ceuta and melilla.
There will also be cloudiness of evolution in much of the interior of the peninsula, with showers and scattered storms, which will be more likely and in mountain areas of the east, without ruling out that they may become locally strong in the mountains of the southeast.
Some coastal fog is likely to form in the low flush and morning mists in Asturias, northern interior of Galicia, upper Ebro and area of the Close. There may also be some haze in the Canary Islands and, with less probability, in Melilla.
Trade winds will blow in the Canary Islands, with intervals of strong intensity in the channels between the islands. The wind will be from the northeast in the northern half of Galicia, with intervals of strong intensity in its western end. Levante is expected in the Strait and eastern end of Andalusia, with predominance of variable winds, generally loose, in the rest of the country.
