The conductor Lark of the Vine prepared a very special recording of his Impossible Orchestrawhich interprets a symphony that aims to reflect the listener through sound symbolisms that deal with problems of humanity and which was composed by Arturo Marquez.

“When I met with the maestro, I asked him to compose a symphony and although he has composed many things in his life, he had never done one, so it turned out not to be a symphony in the strict sense of the concept, but it is made up of a series of very peculiar variations“, said De la Parra at a press conference.

This eight-movement piece has one mission, to make the listener reflect on Social problems and even environmental.

“The Impossible Orchestra It has that name because it has several of the best musicians in the performance of each instrument, so in each motion Each one is emphasized as the protagonist, achieving something unique,” said Alondra.

The first movement is about climate change. “It begins with a single string representing nature and suddenly, cutting through this harmony, the woods and metals that represent humans attacking nature; The message is extremely simple but powerful.“, he explained.

The second movement is inspired by the German hornist, Felix Klieser and speaks about resilience: “He was born without upper limbs and he learned to play his instrument with his feet and his resilience was imprinted; it is also very difficult to play,” he continued.

Gender equality is not alien to this orchestra and it achieves it in its third movement through the cellos, as it is composed of one played by a man and another by a woman, who despite playing the same thing, changes in octaves and increases its difficulty.

“It demands that there be exactly the same number of men and women in it so that the dialogue between both is at the same volume and it was written with that intention, this demands peculiarity of its execution”, continuous.

The fourth movement has the theme of migration and is based on the experience of members of this orchestra who are far from their homes, which is why the longing and nostalgia of home.

“In the fifth, empathy is discussed, and the two are emphasized less empathetic instruments: flute and double bass imitate each other until they reach a point of harmony in the lowest note where both sound at the same time.

In the seventh there is a mockery of “alpha personalities”, When “two stubborn geniuses face each other, playing a complex piece without realizing that they are saying the same thing but in reverse, the notes go upside down,” he emphasized.

For the eighth movement the theme is the “major utopia”, which is played entirely in major chords, which according to De la Parra is “strange”, but it talks about perfection and what an ideal world would be like, but this is contrasted with “an ending that returns to the beginningto reflect that if the planet is not taken care of, none of this would be possible,” he concluded.
