In addition to the tasks assigned to him, he decides to track down Lisette / Charlotte, with whom he once had a tender emotional bond.
The son of the local landlord, Félix, served as a pilot in the war. He returns to his native village with his fiancée, Daphné, to start a family. Daphné hides secrets that are guarded with fear, which, if they come to the surface, will ruin her marriage and her financial situation.
The novel has deep emotions. “The Girl With No Name” was also very impressive, and this novel is a worthy sequel. The writer’s style is very likable and I would like to mention that perhaps one of her most successful novels is “Discarded Children”.
