Along with the mourning: the partygoers returned to the pubs near the site of the attack in Tel Aviv

Tel Aviv mourns: Just two days after the deadly attack on Dizengoff Street, in which three people were killed and 12 others were injured, the city is trying to get back to normal. Near the location of the fatal shooting incident, people returned to sit in pubs next to Israeli flags and memorial candles.

The presence of the security forces, who frequent the main streets alongside a return to routine, is still felt in the streets. At the same time, right-wing activists as well as left-wing activists gathered to demonstrate in Rabin Square in protest of recent events.

As part of the protest, a confrontation developed between left-wing activists and MK Itamar Ben Gvir, during which eggs were thrown at the MK’s vehicle. In a statement prior to Ben Gvir’s arrival, activists circulated condemnation messages against his arrival and posters were raised during his visit “Do not want terrorist supporters in Tel Aviv.” Ben Gvir responded to shouts against him: “You are supporters of terrorism like Gabi Lasky, your friend who is willing to pay money to terrorist families.”

The chairman of Jewish Power, MK Itamar Ben Gvir, responded: “The incitement of the leftists leads to acts of violence. It is unfortunate that while the families are sitting seven, the members of the extreme left are inciting and supporting terrorism.”
