The Independent National Electoral Commission (CENI) is delighted with the results obtained so far by the voter registration operations.

“We have 34 million people enrolled out of the 49 million expected. We are comfortable with that. We are doing feats, “said Denis Kadima, president of this institution, during an interview with France 24.

He also responded to the criticisms leveled at the quality of these operations: “The electoral list will be reliable. It will be based on the actual number of Congolese enrolled.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (CENI) says it has already enrolled 70% of expected voters.

According to Didi Manara, second vice-president of this institution, these provisional statistics are from the start of identification and enrollment operations until March 3, 2023.

In accordance with its electoral calendar, it is during the parliamentary session of March which opens this Wednesday that the two chambers of parliament must vote on the law on the distribution of seats. It is on December 20 that the Congolese are expected to vote to choose their leaders for the next 5 years.
