The railway company expects train ridership “up 10% compared to 2019 and last year”.

It’s almost time for the great departures for the All Saints holidays. From tonight and until November 7, many French people will take SNCF trains to get to their vacation spots. The railway company has already sold four million tickets for this period, including one million in the last ten days.

«Attendance is expected to increase by 10% compared to 2019 and last year, a positive dynamic as we saw on the holidays this summer“says the group. The summer season was indeed a success for the SNCF with around fifteen million tickets on sale.

The outlook also bodes well for the end-of-year celebrations. A fortnight ago, the SNCF announced that it had sold 30 tickets per second between 6 and 8 a.m. on October 5, when sales opened. This represents “the equivalent of three TGVs every morning“, completes the company. This optimism is not even tainted by last minute cancellations, despite the declaration of the president of the Union of trades and hotel industries (Umih) at the start of the week. Roland Héguy mentioned in particular 30% cancellations in business tourism for the All Saints holidays.
