Qatar also prepared a warm welcome for salami. Al Salami ended his walk by reaching the square where the national flag of Saudi Arabia is installed at the Flag Plaza on the Doha Corniche. The journey started from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on September 9 and took 55 days to cover 1,600 km to reach Qatar. Last day, Al Salami reached the Abu Samra border crossing, which is the land border of Qatar with Saudi Arabia, and reached the Doha Corniche on foot. Al Salami was welcomed by people on his journey from Abu Samra to Doha.

Many people came to cheer Al Salami with flowers and food. Al Salami responded that he was surprised by the reception and support.
